SO THIS WEEK I CAME BACK TO ITALY FOR PITTI FRAGRANZE THE BIG FRAGRANCE FAIR IN FLORENCE.

THE JET-LAG GOING WEST TO EAST IS PRETTY HARSH IN THE MORNINGS. NOT TO MENTION HULKING SUIT-CASES AROUND TRAIN STATIONS THAT WERE DESIGNED WITH MONUMENTAL LEVEL DIFFERENCES…

WOW! THE FIRST REACTION OF TASTING FOOD IN ITALY AGAIN.. TASTE BEING THE IMPORTANT WORD. THE GELATO TASTED OF WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO: BIG-TIME. THE GELATERIA HAD THE ‘RADICAL’ IDEA OF USING THE RIGHT INGREDIENTS TO MAKE THE ICE CREAM.

IT’S LIKE OUR PERFUME LARIA. USE THE RIGHT INGREDIENTS AND NOTHING ELSE: THE RESULT IS FULL OF AROMA AND GENUINE CHARACTER.

TOOK THE TRAIN DOWN TO FLORENCE FOR THE FAIR…

PITTI FRAGRANZE IS JUST OPEN TO PEOPLE IN THE BUSINESS. THE EXHIBITORS ARE HIGH-END NICHE PRODUCERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD, WITH A PREDOMINANCE OF FRENCH AND ITALIAN COMPANIES.

WITHIN THIS CONTEXT I FELT THAT LARIA COMPARED WELL. IT IS UNIQUE AND TRUE TO ITS AIM OF ‘STARTING FROM NATURE’. IT’S STRENGTH COMES FROM THE CHOICE AND QUALITY OF ITS INGREDIENTS: IN OUR CASE DERIVED FROM PLANTS.

A BIT LIKE ITALIAN FOOD :)
